An exhibition of work by Richard Erskine

My first Exhibition ‘Coast & Commons’ at Three Storeys in Nailsworth which ran from 1st to 6th October 2024 was well attended and fulfilling, with lots of positive feedback. You can take a walk around the exhibition with me (in two parts) …

There were 46 original pieces on display for sale of which 17 were sold. Not bad for a first exhibition I feel. It is so lovely thinking the work will help bring joy to those who liked the work, and find good homes to go to. I was approached by 4 people regard potential commissions, which was also nice.

If you would like to purchase any of the artworks that are still available, please contact me via the contact form on the Home page and leave your request and contact details. See this website (Coast, Commons, Still Life, and Pen & Wash) for prices of available pieces.

I love diversity in life and art, and that shines through in his work and mark-making, experimenting in different media and techniques. He seeks out stunning locations on our coasts and commons for inspiration, or in any place where the light is doing something interesting.

I enjoy the creative interplay between simplicity and complexity, between precision and ambiguity, which distinguishes art from mere representation.

On show were delicate watercolours, large expressive acrylics, naturalistic oil paintings, pencil sketches, and for a bit of fun, some pen & washes.

If you liked what to saw at the exhibition (or via this website) and would like to discuss a potential commission, please contact me at any time via the form Interested in my art? on the Home page.
